Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals

John Geeslin

Cortney Anderson
Assistant Center Director
Cortney holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, where she studied Chemistry and Psychology. She enjoys teaching SAT/ACT, Advanced Math and Advanced Reading. Cortney's varied interests include volunteering, traveling and painting.
Robert Karlson
Director of Education
Robert is very enthusiastic about being the Director of Education for Sylvan-Naples. He received his Masters degree in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, as well as his B.S. and initial teaching certification. Robert is currently certified to teach Mathematics in NJ and FL and has a wealth of classroom and tutoring experience. Robert's interests outside academia include Collier County Recreation softball leagues and state tournaments, as well as athletics and fitness activities of all sorts.
Anthony Ryan
Assistant Director of Education
Tony has worked at the Naples Center for over 6 years as a tutor in mathematics, academic reading and SAT preparation. He earned his B.A. in the Liberal Arts from St. Johns College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and his Master's degree in Educational Technology at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Victoria Miller
Instructor
Vicky is very excited to be a part of the Sylvan community! She received her bachelor's degree from the University of North Florida in Elementary Education. She continued her education at the University of Missouri where she received her Masters of Education in Literacy. Vicky loves sports of all kinds, traveling, teaching and learning.
Yvonne Rodenhiser
SAT Instructor
Yvonne holds a Bachelor's Degree from Plymouth University and a Master's Degree from the University of New Hampshire. Yvonne has worked with Sylvan for over 9 years and specializes in Linguistics.
Patricia Dwyer

Cookie Jornlin
Instructor
Cookie has tutored with the Sylvan Learning Centers for over 5 years both in Cincinnati and in Naples. She enjoys teaching the Academic Reading, Beginning Reading, Math Essentials, and especially the Study Skills program. She hold a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Middlebury College in Vermont. She has taught at all levels for 35 years in many countries and now is enjoying sharing her talents with Sylvan students in Naples.
