We cover learning styles, reading strategies, note taking, outlining, and test taking skills. After this class your child will have the skills needed to be a more effective student.
Study Skills for the College Bound Student
Don’t send your student off to college without learning how to study effectively and efficiently. In college students will be required to read 2-3x more material than they did in high school and in a shorter amount of time. This 12-hour program will cover reading strategies, note taking from texts and lectures, outlining, test taking strategies, and more. This program consists of 30 hours of instruction in a small group setting. The class covers verbal, math, and writing skills. Since our small group classes are half the size of the typical classroom programs offered elsewhere, we can provide a much higher degree of student-teacher interaction. Our small group approach creates the ideal semi-private learning environment, where students work closely with their instructors to reach their full potential on the SAT.

Advanced Reading Strategies
This 12 hour course is designed to double or triple a student's reading speed and provides an array of ways to read based on the purpose of reading (known as the flexible reading strategy). This course helps students complete homework and tests in much less time as well as allowing them to complete the SAT/ACT test in the time allotted. This course is great preparation for college reading.
Math and Verbal Concept Review
When a student's verbal or math SAT score is much lower than expected, often a math or verbal concept review is needed. The SAT Prep Class assumes that the skills have been learned. When skills haven't been retained a review is a must for the student to receive their highest SAT score. A math and verbal assessment is delivered to determine what skills need to be addressed in order to best help the student on the SAT/ACT.

Call to register to take a practice test. After the test, we will set up an appointment to review the results and discuss options to improve scores. Appointments are required.
