Meet the Tutors
Sylvan Learning Center of Ponte Vedra Beach services the Ponte Vedra Beach, St. Johns County, Jacksonville, and Duval County area. The staff at Sylvan Learning Center is dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals. We know that not every child learns the same and we design our programs to meet the needs of all students not just certain students.
Our staff has years of experience tutoring and teaching students how to learn and succeed academically. Our tutors know that in order to move on to one skill you must master the one before. At Sylvan, we move at each student's pace to ensure mastery of that skill before moving on to the next. We don't leave students behind, we move with them.
Our teachers encourage our students to do their best, to work hard, to strive for success, and to feel good about themselves.

Paige Howell
Executive Director/Owner
Paige Howell is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and has a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Louisville. She has worked in the field of supplemental education for 14 years. She and her husband, Rich, purchased the center in 2006. Paige also co-authored the book "Family Fun of Florida's First Coast" featuring information on all the great things to do in this area.
When not working, Paige spends many hours at the ballpark with her boys. She also loves to spend time at the beach, read, travel, and most of all be with her family.
When asked why she likes working at Sylvan? Paige replied, "It's the smiles on the students' and parents' faces when their child starts to see success and begins building confidence."

Kim Paige
Center Director
Kim Paige graduated from UNF with a BA in Elementary Education. Kim loves inspiring the kids to do their best. She works hard to make sure that the needs of all the students at the center are met.
When asked why you like working at Sylvan? Kim says, "I enjoy working at Sylvan because it is a very positive place for students. It is also enjoyable to work closely with students and see them succeed."
When Kim is not working she likes to bike ride, watch reality tv, and spend time with family and friends.
