A Big Difference

"Dylan has only attended Sylvan Learning Center for a short amount of time and he is already making so much progress! He is improving his writing skills and grammar each time he attends Sylvan. Chanise Shaw

"Chanise Shaw is a 9th grade student at Chilton High School. She is currently enrolled in the Sylvan of Waco online program. She really enjoys the convenience of live online instruction.

Chanise has only been enrolled for about three months and she has grown four grade levels in reading. She used to have test anxiety and did not want to go to school. She now loves school and has a positive attitude towards school. Chanise used to come in and hold her head down and she was unhappy. Now, she is smiling, happy and confident.

Cedarian McDowell

"Cedarian started with Sylvan on a low third grade level. Cedarian was usually frustrated and did not have a positive attitude about school. Cedarian comes to Sylvan Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays for two hours. After Cedarian had completed just 36 hours he jumped to a high fifth grade level and has changed his whole outlook about school. His grandma, Lois McDowell said, “I have seen such a big improvement in him and so has his school teachers, he likes coming to Sylvan and now he likes school.”"

Tyler Russell

"Tyler is a very outgoing and friendly kid who loves everyone! Tyler and his family want him to be prepared for Junior High and High School. Tyler was behind in Reading and Math and was not confident in his work. Since attending Sylvan, Tyler has shown tremendous improvement in his vocabulary, comprehension and has improved several levels in math. Tyler’s confidence has shot up and his grades are improving. Both Tyler’s grandfather and Dad comment, “Tyler is improving and we are pleased with his results. His grades and confidence have improved and it’s because of Sylvan!”"

Don't Spell Out Loud!

"Zachary came to us as a beginning reader. Zachary started instruction at Sylvan in October of 2007. Zachary was having a hard time with letters, sight vocabulary and phonics. When trying to read, he tended to get a bit frustrated. Zachary is a very smart and intelligent boy who worked very hard to achieve his goals at Sylvan. Zachary progressed quickly and graduated from the Beginning Reading program and is currently in our Academic Reading program. Zachary’s parents stated,

“We can no longer spell things out loud because Zachary can decode it, Zachary is reading things that he was not reading before and has made much improvement in school, his work and his attitude.”

Zachary has experienced much success at Sylvan and we are SO proud of him!"

Through Hard Work....

"Marina Establiet has been with Sylvan since November 2007. Marina came to us in special education classes and she needed help in reading and math. Marina started Sylvan below grade level and has worked her way up to sixth grade work. Through Marina’s hard work and dedication to Sylvan, teachers are noticing a change in her attitude and work. Even more so, Marina is no longer in special education classes. Marina is in a regular sixth grade class and doing well. Mom quotes, “I couldn’t be more proud of her, everything has changed, her attitude, grades, and she is now in regular classes. I owe so many thanks to Sylvan for helping her!”"

"Anthony started with Sylvan March of 2006. Anthony needed help with reading and math. Anthony started at Sylvan on a 2nd to 3rd grade level and has worked his way up to 6th grade level. Since coming to Sylvan, teachers have noticed that Anthony has shown improvement in class participation, grades, and confidence. Anthony passed his TAKS test and worked very hard to do so! Sylvan is very proud of the accomplishments Anthony has made! Anthony’s mom said, “We are so excited that Anthony passed his TAKS test! He was very nervous but his hard work paid off and we are so proud!”"

Believing in yourself!

"Daniel has been a Sylvan student since 2007 and currently comes to Sylvan to get help with reading. Daniel is in the sixth grade and since coming to Sylvan, he has mastered over fifty skills at three different grade levels. Daniel has shown academic growth each time he has taken the progress assessment test. Daniel's mom has stated, “Daniel is doing well in school, the teachers are happy with his progress, he likes school and we couldn’t be happier that we are able to participate at Sylvan Learning Center.""

Darius

"Darius has been a student at the Sylvan Learning Center of Waco since 2007. He is currently enrolled in our Reaching and Math programs, but has also successfully completed our Writing program. Darius has made tremendous progress in raising his grades since enrolling at Sylvan, he is now an A and B student. Darius’ teachers say that he now participates in class, turns in all of his work and asks questions. Darius is a sweet boy with tremendous potential. His mom has said, “I love Sylvan and Darius loves Sylvan. Sylvan has done wonderful things for Darius and I recommend Sylvan to everyone!”"

Ivey Mount

"Ivey is a math and reading student at Sylvan. Ivey has been a Sylvan student before and had success with the program the first time she attended. Ivey is in the fourth grade and has made wonderful progress at Sylvan thus far. She continues to make growth in her academics and school work. Ivey likes to show her cow in her free time and is a sweet student to work with. Ivey will continue to improve her academics and confidence! Ivey’s Mom and Dad say, “Ivey is bringing up her grades each report card and homework time is getting better, I am so glad that Sylvan has been able to help her!”"

"Reymeion started with Sylvan in 2007 and began coming for Math. Reymeion started way below grade level but through his continued hard work and motivation at Sylvan, he is currently working on grade level and made 3.5 years growth on his progress test! Reymeion is a smart and fun kid to work with. Reymeion’s mom said at our last conference, “He is doing well in school, making good grades. Sylvan has helped him a lot, thank you!”"

Another Success Story!

"Logan Cook started at Sylvan because she needed help in her reading and her math. Since attending Sylvan Logan has passed her TAKS tests brought up her reading and math grades and her confidence has gone way up! "Ramie Long attended Sylvan for help in reading. She was struggling with reading and the TAKS test. Ramie enrolled in our Sylvan Academic reading program and started to make big improvements. She completed her program at Sylvan and upon doing so is a better reader, has more confidence, better grades and she passed her TAKS test! Ramie is now on the A/B honor roll and continues to do well in reading!

"Cody came to Sylvan struggling with staying organized and with reading comprehension. Since coming to Sylvan in Waco, Cody brightens up the students and teachers' day with his fun personality and has improved greatly in his reading and organizational skills. Passed the TAKS Test!

"Anthony has been coming to the Sylvan of Waco for math and reading help. When Anthony needed help with his TAKS test, he suggested to his mom that he come to Sylvan. After coming to Sylvan, Anthony was able to successfully pass his TAKS test. Anthony's mother recently said,

“When Anthony knew he was having trouble, he asked me to call Sylvan because Sylvan has always helped him in the past.”"
