Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Marianne spent 16 years in Chamber of Commerce management in North Carolina and, prior to that, was a newspaper journalist. She brings a strong background in community development and marketing to the position of Center Director of Sylvan Albemarle.
Debby is a veteran of NC public education, having spent nine years in administration with Stanly County Schools and 25 years in the classroom. Her last assignment with the local school system was as principal of Badin Elementary School.
Rick is a career-long educator. A native of Lincoln County, NC, he spent 30 years teaching high school English, Writing and Study Skills in the Anson County School System. He also has lead more than 15 school and community educational trips to Europe.
Lisa is a technology facilitator with Stanly County schools. Lisa has a BA in Computer Information Systems and Business Administration from Catawba College and a teaching licensure from NC State in Business and Marketing Education and Instructional Technology. As the center's lead teacher, she is responsible for overseeing instructional staff and programs.
Dr. B has been with Sylvan-Albemarle since its opening in August 2007. She is a veteran educator with the NC Public School system and Johnson C. Smith University.
An Appalachian State grad, Kathy is a long time teacher at Endy Elementary School. She currently teaches 2nd grade and for many years taught Kindergarten. She is a veteran of the Sylvan-Albemarle instructional team. Kathy has her National Board Certification.
An alumini of the North Carolina Teaching Fellows program, Meredith teaches English at South Stanly High School. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University and received her master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Dana is an elementary teacher at Aquadale Elementary school in Stanly County. A North Carolina Teaching Fellow, she has both a bachelor's and master's degree from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
An English teacher at West Montgomery High School, Linda has a bachelor of science degree in education with concentrations in English, library science and social studies. She also has a master's degree in English education and communications. She is a nationally board certified teacher. She is also an instructor with the NC Virtual Public High School.
Stephanie is a media specialist at Central Elementary School in Stanly County. She graduated from Radford College in Virginia with a bachelor of science degree in education. She has a master's degree in library information science from Emory University.
A math teacher at Albemarle High School in Stanly County, Pat specializes in Geometry and Algebra I. She is a graduate of Pfeiffer University and Stanly Community College. In addition to tutoring both math and reading, Pat also provides instruction for Sylvan's SAT Prep Program.
