"Refresher" course for an adult student"I enrolled at Sylvan Learning Center in Central Austin so they can help me prepare for the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills). TEAS is a pre-entrance exam to the vocational nursing program at the University of Texas-Brownsville. I enrolled in a "refresher" course to help with my math, reading, grammar and science skills. It had been several years since my last college course in these subject areas. In a little over 20 hours of instruction and the guidance from the Sylvan instructors, I felt more confident and prepared to take the test. Now, I am happy to say I passed the TEAS test! Sylvan - a fun, great experience!"Sylvan [in central Austin] was a great experience for my daughter. The instructors were very caring and always happy to give me updates on my daughter's progress. Sylvan was also a fun experience. The children are awarded with tokens for their hard work. The tokens can be used at the Sylvan Store to purchase lots of great things. Once a month, the parents attend a meeting with the center manager. It always amazed me how aware she was with my daughter's progress, strengths, weaknesses and current status.
