TOP OF THE CLASS

"I want to give Sylvan many thanks and praises for helping my daughter with math. My daughter was struggling the first half of her senior year of high school. She had made a great effort to stay after even though the sessions were not helping. She was struggling to keep up with her class. A family member had suggested Sylvan. I took her to her first session. The staff was warm and inviting. She walked out of there understanding more than she did in weeks. Erin helped her break each problem down where she was able to understand it. Thanks to my daughter and staff of Sylvan she passed her final with a 98.2 and passed for the year, and moved on to graduate. She had the highest grade in the class and amazed her teachers. You will never believe what i am about to tell you. but yes, it is true!!!!!

My average right now is no longer a C, but a B+! and...we had a performance piece that counted as half of our final and i got a....100!!!!! i beat the smartest kid in my class!! i dont know how i did on my actual final. i feel i did pretty well. i was aiming for an 85 so i hopefully achieved that.

so i will let u no when i get my actual grade (lord help me) and hopefully i did as well as i think, or better!

Exceeded Expectations

"I just wanted you to know my experience with Sylvan has exceeded my expectations. My daughter, Lauren, had a 65 average in algebra last year. From her first test this year, she knew it was going to be another struggle. Lauren came to you in the fall for help in 11th grade math (functions and trig) and was greeted by her tutor Melissa, who was not only a great instructor but also friendly and fun. Lauren once commented to me that she understood more from Melissa in one day than she did all week in the classroom. Her grades continued to climb and she achieved an 87 on her final exam, which was 2nd highest in her class. Obviously Sylvan made a difference.

The Skills to Succeed

"My name is Bonnie S. and I wanted to share my Sylvan story. My son started to have trouble in school about halfway through 1st grade. After months of testing, we discovered he had ADHD, but medication alone did not solve the difficulty he was still having in school. We began to have him tested further with the result of a learning disability. He was diagnosed with Dyslexia.

After presenting the results to his second grade public school teacher, they wanted their specialist to perform their own test. Coming from a low budget school district, he only qualified for reading resources help. After a few months I did not notice any improvement. I called Sylvan Learning Center; I had always seen their ads and wanted to learn more about the process. I spoke with Gail who filled me in on the screening (testing) process to pinpoint his exact weaknesses, and the steps needed to build strength in those areas.

Two years later, my son now excels not only at reading, but at breaking down problems and organization skills. While other kids were coming home from school and playing, he was going to Sylvan, but he never felt like he was missing out on fun. All the teachers at the center made learning fun for him, not to mention the tokens to spend at the gift shop! He not only possesses the skills needed to tackle any problem at school, but more importantly the confidence and self esteem!
