As Center Director, Nadia ensures that our families experience the quality learning support that Sylvan promises.
Raised in North Carolina, Nadia graduated Cum Laude with her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Nadia's experience as Instructor, Lead Teacher, and Program Manager enables her to make learning enjoyable and tailored to meet the educational needs of each student.
Angela is from Manchester, England and came to Dubai in 2001. She has experience working in both British National Curriculum and International schools, and is a qualified TESOL English Teacher.
Angela has a passion for teaching and thrives on seeing students develop and grow. Angela enjoys her role as Director of Education because she is able to see results and see children gain confidence every day.
Prior to Dubai, Angela qualified in Art and Graphic Design and worked within the Design industry for 4 years. In her spare time Angela loves to paint, go to the cinema, and enjoys eating out.
Ayesha Raza Khan holds a Masters of Education from University of the Punjab, Pakistan, and has been engaged with education for over seven years.
During those years, Ayesha worked as an Early Years teacher, Administrator, Mentor in ‘A’ class schools such as Lahore Grammar School and Froebel’s International. She developed and nurtured various societies and policies within her Alma matter that emphasize student creativity and skill building techniques.
Ayesha has been in Dubai since 2009 and has made it feel like home. She joined Sylvan as Administrative Assistant to the Director and Teachers. "I feel lucky and happy to be part of the SYLVAN TEAM!"
Nora is from Hertfordshire, England, and has recently joined our Dubai team. She is a qualified TEFL teacher and has had experience teaching in both England and France.
Nora has a passion for languages and Graduated in 2007, obtaining a French Studies Batchelor of Arts. She enjoys working with children of all ages and is passionate about helping others achieve their goals.
In her spare time Nora enjoys cooking, making music and reading.
Karim is an energetic, engaging teacher from California. With his BA from the University of California, Davis, Karim's passion it to help students prepare for university.
He likes to make instruction interesting and is an excellent communicator. Karim teaches SAT Math Prep, Study Skills, High School level math, Biology and Chemistry.
Rubina joined Sylvan as a Math, Reading, and Writing teacher. A graduate of the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, she holds an Honors Bachelors of Informatics.
Rubina's goal is to nurture and grow students' strengths and work on their areas of development, in order to allow them to become the best they can be. She is passionate about teaching and believes that every student can reach their potential if their teachers instill a love for learning in them.
Sharmela teaches reading and writing. Prior to working at Sylvan she was a feature writer for various publications in the Middle East, and so particularly enjoys helping students to develop their writing skills and discover their creative side.
Originally from the UK, where she gained a BA (Hons) in English Literature, she loves to travel, and was teaching English in South Korea before moving to Dubai.
As well as having a passion for teaching, she enjoys being a student herself, and is currently learning Hindi.
Born and raised in the UAE, Omar has gained a lot of experience with different school systems in the area.
Always an A+ student, he brings a love of learning to his teaching. In addition to teaching Math and Science to high school students, Omar is studying medicine.
Omar's ongoing experiences at Sylvan has taught him how to interact with different personalities and inspire students to not only believe in themselves, but also to aim for the best.
Pauline is from Scotland and has been working as a teacher of English and math in Dubai for over two years. With a BA Honors in Philosophy and Religion, Pauline completed her TESOL Teacher Training qualification with distinction in 2009.
Before moving to Dubai, Pauline worked with youth throughout the UK since 2001. Initially as a volunteer with the Prince's Trust Charity, she then worked for five years as Children's Counselor and Community Outreach Officer with the children's charity - ChildLine. In addtion, she has six years teaching experience in High Schools working with Young Enterprise Scotland.
Pauline loves immersing herself in a good book. Reading coupled with outdoor adventures keeps her active and busy when not teaching.
