It's Been Four Years!

On January 29th, we will celebrate our four year anniversary of owning Sylvan Learning of Elk Grove. When we both joined Sylvan in 2004, we had no idea it would lead to us taking over this location. Our families have always encouraged us to dream big, and this was a big step. We took the leap in the winter of 2007 and didn’t look back.

We want to thank our husbands, our families, friends new & old and our staff. Sylvan Learning of Elk Grove wouldn’t be what it is today without our fabulous group of teachers and teaching assistants.

We’ve also enjoyed meeting and working with new families and community leaders in Elk Grove. Elk Grove has welcomed us with open arms and we’re thankful for the strong relationships and support given to us by families and local business owners.

Camp Sum Fun: A fun approach for your child to improve understanding of basic addition and subtraction skills, while increasing speed and accuracy. (Grades 2-4)

Multiply & Divide: A fun approach for your children to understand basic multiplication and division facts, while increasing speed and accuracy. (Grades 3-5)


Organization & Time Management: Your child will learn how to keep a planner and manage his homework/study time. (Grades 4 – 12)

Test Taking Strategies: Learning how to properly study for and take different types of tests. (Grades 4 – 12)

Algebra Readiness: Math skills necessary for success in Algebra 1. (Grades 7 – 10)

The Writing Process: Learning how to properly form an essay, from start to finish. (Grades 4 – 12)

Each workshop is 10 hours long and you can schedule those hours at your convenience. No extra assessments necessary.

Learning With Dogs

Four days each week, we welcome a therapy-in-training dog to our center. These dogs sit and read with our students, building their reading fluency and math facts.

Our students love reading to Tilly, Bella, Sadie, Odie, Sammy, Gracee, Happy, Sweet Pea, and Ollie.
