Our Center
It's been three years!
On January 29th, we celebrated our three year anniversary of owning this Elk Grove Sylvan Learning. When we both joined Sylvan in 2004, we had no idea it would lead to us taking over this location. Our families have always encouraged us to dream big, and this was a big step. We took the leap in the winter of 2007 and didn’t look back.
We want to thank our husbands, our families, friends new & old and our staff. Elk Grove Sylvan Learning wouldn’t be what it is today without our fabulous group of teachers and teaching assistants.
We’ve also enjoyed meeting and working with new families and community leaders in Elk Grove. Elk Grove has welcomed us with open arms and we’re thankful for the strong relationships and support given to us by families and local business owners.
Monica Wolf
Owner/Center Director
Monica Wolf grew up a short distance away in the delta town of Walnut Grove. She graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Human Development. She has spent time teaching preschool and substitute teaching in Lodi, CA. Monica began her Sylvan career in April 2004 as a part-time teacher here in Elk Grove. She has since been a Director at Sylvans in Elk Grove, Greenhaven, and Jackson. Monica is a huge Star Wars fan and in her spare time enjoys reading, photography, napping, playing with her kitten, Chewie and traveling with her husband, Kevin.
Shannon Arnold
Owner/Director of Education
Shannon Arnold comes to us originally from Michigan. Shannon holds two degrees – the first is a BS in Family & Consumer Sciences with minors in psychology and sociology. Her second degree is in Elementary Education. While in Michigan, Shannon taught kindergarten, first and second grades. In 2004, after relocating to California with her husband, Chad, she began her career with Sylvan in Elk Grove as Director of Education. Before taking over again in Elk Grove, she spent time as Director up in Jackson. Shannon loves spending time with her two dogs and cat, reading, traveling to see her family and watching movies with her husband.

Our fabulous staff of teachers and teaching assistants have combined total Sylvan experience of over 15 years! Not to mention their years of classroom teaching experience. Our teachers are local, credentialed teachers and our assistants are college students who strive to ensure your kids are well taken care of.
