Tiffany Greider

Center Director

Tiffany has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Pacific University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oregon. As a native "Eugenian," she enjoys the rain and quietly cheering for the Ducks.

Austin Curtis

Director of Education

Austin graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY with a Bachelors degree in Childhood and Special Education with a minor in math/science/technology. Austin is primed to help our High School students with their most demanding coursework. From IB, AP or Honors courses to SAT or ACT prep, Austin helps students hone their skills for their present and future challenges. When not teaching, he enjoys traveling with his wife up and down the I-5 corridor.

Sarah Avgeris

Director of Education

Sarah has a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon. She enjoys running, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family. Sarah will be getting married on March 24, 2012!

Kerstin Turner

Lead Teacher

Kerstin has a degree in Elementary Education from Western Oregon University. She has taught elementary and middle school reading and math. She is married, has a dog and enjoys hanging with her family.

Becky Gould

Teacher

Becky has spent 25 years teaching elementary school in three different states. She enjoys traveling & scrapbooking. An avid dog lover and crafter, Becky helps our youngest students feel right at home here at Sylvan.

Ryan Doppelmayr

Teacher

Ryan graduated from the University of Oregon with her teaching degree. When she isn't at Sylvan she is a substitute teacher. She also served in the Peace Corps teaching English in Kyrgyzstan. She is having a baby in March!

Janet Hiller

Teacher

Janet has taught English at the high school and college level for almost 30 years. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with Master of Arts in English. She is certified with a Lifetime Missouri Teaching Certification for secondary English. In 1991, she published a book entitled, High School Creative Writing. Over the years she published shorter articles in various publications. Janet also received various grants for her studies in English, including the National Humanities Center Grant and National Endowment for the Humanities. She has traveled widely to Universities around the country as a guest lecturer.

Kristen Ingebretson

Teacher

Kristen graduated from Pacific University's Masters program. Kristen's unique personality and committment to meeting each student on their level makes her an often requested teacher and one busy lady! She enjoys gardening, swimming, and playing with her dog.

David Vodhi

Teacher

David graduated from the University of South Africa and Cape Town. He has taught mathematics and computing for over 30 years.

Amanda Berends

Teacher

Amanda graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Music and Art Education. Amanda came to teach in Eugene from Colorado and has found her niche with our early afternoon Elementary students who adore her! Amanda's zest for life and fun personality translates easily during instruction here and the kids walk out excited about what they've learned with "bounce" in their steps!

Devon Allen

Teacher

Devon graduated from the University of California Riverside with a B.S. in Mathematics. She loves math and enjoys helping our students master the "basics" of math and study skills. Her undergrad work in mathematics (her major) prepared her for the needs of our high school students facing upper level math courses.

Andrew Stephens

Teacher

Andrew splits his time between the United States and South East Asia. Most recently he lived in Hong Kong where he taught at Sylvan.

Corinne Avenius

Teacher/Test Administrator

Corinne graduated from Indiana University's School of Education in 2008. She has taught in a variety of grade levels from kindergarten though middle school. Corinne enjoys reading, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her kitties.
