"I've been meaning to send you an e-mail to thank you.

My son, Tyler, attended Sylvan for Writing in January through June of this year. I could not tell at the time how much progress he was making. Most of his projects were complete by March and he had only been in the program a couple months at that point.

Tyler is now in 5th grade and has the same teacher this year as last year. I had my Parent/Teacher Conference yesterday and the teacher said she couldn't believe his progress! She says he is focusing in class better, he's raising his hand more and seems more on-task and responsible than in the previous year. At this time last year Tyler was getting mostly Bs with a D in Reading/Writing and was reading slightly below grade level. This year he's getting mostly A's and a few B+'s and he is reading above grade level. He also went from scoring "Basic" on English Arts on the STAR Test in Grades 2-3, but scored "Advanced" when he took it last Spring in Grade 4.

We are very proud of his work and his persistence. Sylvan has definitely increased his confidence in his English skills, but also in other subjects as well. It was a lot of extra work to attend Sylvan 3 hours each week and he definitely didn't enjoy it at the time. However, he is certainly now enjoying the fruits of his labor.
