Sylvan Learning had its own double-digit growth in 2008, experiencing more than a 150% growth in franchise sales. This is a result of a strategic decision by Sylvan Learning to focus on franchising to local entrepreneurs and business operators who can respond to the particular needs of each community while utilizing the tools, resources and brand equity of the Sylvan name.

Opportunities

Additionally, Sylvan has identified more than 40 existing corporate-owned centers throughout the U.S. that the company is converting to franchise centers. In these markets, interested franchisees have the potential to generate revenue from $200,000 to $1 million. Markets include Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, Salt Lake City and Washington, D.C.
