Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Erika Wykstra
Center Director
Erika is first and foremost responsible for holding the center to the highest standards in the delivery of their educational goals and works in close collaboration with parents, teachers and other school personnel to ensure each student's success. Erika has worked at Sylvan Learning of Grandville as a teacher, Director of Education and now the Center Director. Erika is a graduate of Calvin College where she recieved her B.A. in Elementary Education and Language Arts.
Stacy VanDeBurg
Director of Education
As the Director of Education, Stacy oversees all of the centers educational operations. Her responsibilities include; continual training of Sylvan instructors, maintenance of student educational programs, ensuring consistency and quality in the testing and instructional environments. Stacy has worked at many of the West Michigan Sylvan locations, but most recently comes to Grandville from our Grand Rapids location.
