Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

Terri Trathowen

Center Director

Terri has a BS in Business Administration with teaching certificate in Business Education from Robert Morris University.  As Center Director, Terri is concerned first and foremost with the quality of service offered by her staff.  She began as Center Director in 2011 
Terri held a Director position of private, postsecondary career college prior to joining Sylvan.

Judy Geary

Program Manager-Math

Judy has been with the Greensburg Sylvan since 1997 as an instructor and Program Manager for our math programs. She possesses a BA degree in secondary math education from Indiana University of PA. Judy taught a variety of math subjects at the junior high and high school in the Greater Latrobe school district.  Judy's favorite thing about teaching and Sylvan is helping students reach their full potential.

Trude Hayes

Program Manager - Reading

Trude has been the Reading Program Manager and an instructor at the Greensburg Sylvan since 1993. She has a B.A. degree in English and a M.A. in Reading from West Virginia University. She is certified in Reading, English, and Elementary Education. Her background includes Title I reading teacher, Junior Great Books instructor, and Laubach adult literacy tutor.  Trude's favorite thing about teaching and Sylvan is seeing kids improve over time.

Owen Barton

Instructor

Owen is in the process of obtaining a BS in Mathematics Education at St. Vincent College.  He began his Sylvan career in October, 2011. Owen enjoys golf, watching hockey and listening to music. 

Owen’s favorite thing about teaching is the “eureka” moments students have.

Penny Bittner

Instructor

Penny has earned a BA Psychology/Elementary & Early Childhood Education from Seton Hill University. She joined the Sylvan team in January, 2012. Penny loves to ready and listen to music. Her favorite thing about teaching is, "I love to learn new things!"

Angela DeFlitch

Instructor

Angela has a BS in Elementary Education from California University of Pennsylvania.   She enjoys reading, baking and board games.  Angela’s favorite thing about teaching is showing students that learning can be fun.

Nikki Guerrieri-Sebeck

Instructor

Nikki has a BS in Secondary Education/Chemistry with Math Minor from California University of Pennsylvania .  She began her Sylvan career in March, 2006.    Nikki's favorite thing about teaching is learning from the students; they keep her in touch with the world. 

Tina Revitsky

Instructor

Tina has a BS in Elementary Education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania .  She began at Sylvan in March, 1987
Tina’s favorite thing about teaching is to have children express excitement and show pride when they are successful in the learning process.

Brittany Ring

Instructor

Brittany has a BS in Elementary Education/Middle School Math from Geneva College.  She began at Sylvan in August 2011.  Brittany’s favorite thing about teaching is seeing students succeed in all aspects of life.
