I have been working at Sylvan Learning Center since July of 2008. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Hood College and my Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from Hood College. I have taught grades K-3 in both Montgomery and Frederick Counties. I enjoy working at Sylvan because I get to see a students confidence and self esteem improve. I also enjoy working with the parents and supporting them in helping their child to succeed. In my spare time I enjoy being with my family most of all. I have a daughter in the 1st grade and 3 step children. My stepdaughter is a freshman at Shepherd University, my stepson is in the Air Force and stationed in Montana and my other stepson resides in Hagerstown and works full time. We enjoy camping, going to Deep Creek Lake, watching the Redskins, and playing with Bella our Boxer dog.
BA Frostburg State University. Upon graduation, Kim taught in the Frederick County schools. Kim has been with Sylvan for 22 years and oversees operations at the Frederick, Gaithersburg and Hagerstown locations.
Masters of Education; Special Education McDaniel College. Sylvan Learning Corporation; Certified Director and Director of Education, Sylvan Learning Corporation Baltimore. Terri began her career teaching Special Education students, both middle and high school levels, all subjects. Terri then spent the next two years as a Staff Development Specialist, teaching other Special Education teachers to implement teaching techniques appropriate and necessary for their students. Terri has spent the last 25 years Directing the Sylvan Learning Centers of Frederick, Gaithersburg, Hagerstown and Martinsburg which includes supervising and monitoring the implementation of student programs to assure the success of each student.
BA, University of Northern Iowa. Bob is a former Naval Officer, classroom teacher, athletic coach, and assistant school superintendent. In addition, he has more than 30 years business experience in sales and marketing, Director of Training and as a President of an international company that developed and produced training programs for business, industry, education, and government.
I started working at Sylvan in October of 2010. I received an Associate of Science degree in Elementary Education from Hagerstown Community College. I graduated from Shepherd University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education K-6. I enjoy working at Sylvan because I have a passion for teaching and I wanted a part time job where I could help students learn. In my spare time I like to play tennis, walk my dog, and spend as much time with family and friends as possible.
I started working at Sylvan in August of 1996. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Mathematics Education from Towson State University and a Master’s Equivalency. I enjoy working at Sylvan because I like working with children and teenagers in a different setting beside school. In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano, being involved with my church and swimming.
I started working at Sylvan in April of 2004. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from the University of Maryland. I enjoy working at Sylvan because I LOVE TO TEACH and the hours were perfect for my family responsibilities. In my spare time I enjoy reading and sewing.
I started working at Sylvan in November of 2010. I received a degree in Elementary Education and a Reading Concentration from Indiana Univeristy of Pennsylvania. I enjoy working at Sylvan because I love teaching and working with students in small groups. I want to try to help as many students as I can! In my spare time I like to be with my friends and family. I also like to read, spend time outdoors and do various craft activities.
I started working at Sylvan in November of 2000. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Millersville University, my Library Science Certification in Elementary Education and Pennsylvania Certification credits from Penn State University. I enjoy working at Sylvan because after I retired I missed contact with students and I had heard good things about Sylvan and the work accomplished here. In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, reading, traveling and spending time with my grandchildren.
I started working at Sylvan in June of 2011. I received my Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in Human Development and Family Studies. I have my Master's degree in teaching from Frostburg University. I also have a Master's degree from Liberty University in School Counseling. I am currently working on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I enjoy working at Sylvan because I like the ability to work with students of all grades and teaching them one on one at their level. I also enjoy the small group interactions and watching students progress and achieve academic goals. In my spare time I like to stay involved with my 3 sons. We like to travel together and play the Wii. When I'm not doing something with the boys, I like to read, play the piano, catch up on email, shop, or bake.
I started working at Sylvan in September of 2008. I received a Bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading. I enjoy working at Sylvan cause I can use my teaching degree and still balance family time. In my spare time, I love to go horseback riding and spend time with my family, friends, and numerous animals (which includes 3 horses, 2 dogs, 5 cats and 2 bunnies)
I started working at Sylvan in July of 2009. I received my Bachelor’s
degree in Psychology from Shippensburg University. I received my Teaching Certification for grades K-6 from Wilson College. I enjoy working at Sylvan because I believe in the program. I had a family member who attended Sylvan and it really helped to improve their grades. In my spare time I like to watch funny movies and read mystery books. I also like to play with my cats.
I started working at Sylvan in March of 2005. I received a Bachelor of Elementary Education from Penn State University and a Master’s of Education from Shippensburg University. I enjoy working at Sylvan because it is a great opportunity to help students who are in need of enrichment. In my spare time I enjoy reading a good book and spending time with my husband and 3 children.
