The tutors of Northridge Sylvan Learning Center are all Sylvan trained and certified so that they can best address your child’s academic needs. Our tutors are dedicated to working closely with you and your child in order to help your child reach his or her goals. We start by pinpointing your child’s strengths and areas for improvement through the Sylvan Skills Assessment®. From there, our Northridge staff develops a personalized learning plan for your child and offers unique insights about what methods will work best with your child. Ultimately, our tutors will build a relationship with your child and provide a fun, engaging, and rewarding learning environment. The Northridge Sylvan Learning Center staff consists of highly experienced and established educational professionals who take great pride in their work with students who want to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
Natalie is a graduate from California State University, Northridge. Her degree is in Liberal Studies. She first started working at Sylvan Learning Center in 1994. Natalie is very passionate about helping children of all ages to do better in school and works closely with families to help achieve these goals.
Pat is a graduate of Quincy University with a degree in Elementary Education and has taught in the classroom in Illinois and Simi Valley, CA. She has been a Director of Education for Sylvan since 1996, implementing new programs and assisting with training of new Directors of Education in various centers. Pat started with Sylvan at the Simi Valley location and after having worked in other LA locations is now in Northridge to share her knowledge and love of teaching.
Lorena has been with us for multiple years, and is an exceptional asset to our center and teachers. She really enjoys working with children, and she feels that working at Sylvan has given her tremendous life experiences. She's a graduate from California State University Northridge, with degree in Liberal Studies, and hopes to become a school counselor.
Susan has been with Sylvan for several years now, and loves to see our students grow in self-confidence. Susan holds a Master's degree in Special Education (Learning Disabilities), and spent 38 years as an Elementary teacher.
Johanna has been involved in education for more than 18 years, teaching a variety of subjects and working with children from all age groups. She believes that working with students is truly being on the cutting edge of contemporary development, that young minds need to be understood, challenged, nurtured, encouraged and developed - each at their own pace. Johanna has been an asset to have at Sylvan and has made an impact in our students' lives.
Linda has worked for Sylvan for 12 years and her favorite thing to do is teaching children. Linda has a degree in Biology and an Elementary Teaching Credential. She has been a full time classroom teacher, taught for Title I and has done substitute teaching as well. Linda enjoys working for Sylvan because it gives her the opportunity do what she is passionate about, helping students.
