Jessica Galloso: IN THE SYLVAN SPOTLIGHT!
The Sylvan Spotlight is shining on Jessica Galloso! Jessica earned a bachelor's in rehabilitative science and a master's in rehabilitative counseling.
Jessica joined Sylvan in July of 2011. She is a Sylvan Project Manager, and her focus is on preparing high school students for college. She's a COLLEGE COACH, and she carries Sylvan's proven programs rather than a whistle.
"They are entering a new and exciting phase of their lives, and it is an honor to help them achieve their goals," Jessica said. "I am lucky to work at Sylvan. I believe in their programs, and the staff creates an environment where learning is fun!" Besides College Prep, Jessica also manages In-Home Tutoring, Study Skills and Academic Writing.
Jessica's hobbies are reading and swimming. Her favorite author is Jonathan Kellerman. Jessica can't resist the fries at Wingstop.
If Jessica could meet anyone, dead or alive, she would choose Maria Shriver because she is an advocate for children with disabilities and people with Alzheimers.
"I love how the children's books she has authored have helped bring awareness about people with disabilities," Jessica said. "Her books promote the message that we should not concentrate on how someone with a disability is different but the similarities we all have."
Jessica's favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because her entire family gathers at South Padre Island and spends quality time together.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS---Do you want to increase your chances of earning a high score on the ACT/SAT? Sylvan SAT and ACT Prep Courses have PROVEN RESULTS. In fact, on average, students who attend all sessions of our SAT Prep Course realize a 160-point increase on their SAT score. Our ACT course also has PROVEN RESULTS!

As an approved SES provider, we have programs with Brownsville ISD, Rio Hondo ISD, Edcouch Elsa CISD, Mission CISD and La Joya ISD. LIGHTS ON AFTERSCHOOL
October 21, 2010, we joined 7,500 communities and 1 million Americans celebrate afterschool programs at the Afterschool Alliance's 10th Annual Lights On Afterschool!! We joined the Boys' and Girls' Club of McAllen call attention to the importance of afterschool programs and the resources required to "keep the lights on and the doors open."
The event in McAllen was held at the Boys' and Girls' Club, and featured speakers were State Rep. Veronica Gonzales and Tex. Sen. Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa.
