Anne M. Schramm

Center Director

Anne manages the operations at the Napa Center, meeting with parents and students to help them succeed in reaching their goals, and also plays an active part in the Napa Community. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana. Anne taught elementary school for 20 years and received recognition from Sam's Club as "Teacher of the Year, 1999." Joined Sylvan in August 2003.

Alissa Mahoney

Director of Education

Alissa joined Sylvan in September, 2003, and is responsible for meeting with parents and students and overseeing each student's academic progress here in Napa. She received a Bachelor's degree from University of Puget Sound. Alissa has a multiple subject teaching credential from the University of Phoenix. She also has extensive experience in customer service in multiple settings, and spent five years organizing and directing student physical education and art programs.

Jacob Solis

Upper Level Math Instructor

Jacob is our coolest math instructor! He is a graduate of Vintage High School and graduated from St. Mary's College and St. Louis University and is a whiz at any kind of math! His hobbies include working on cars and hiking and his favorite food is Sushi. His passions include politics and math, of course!

Sue Hattich

Instructional Manager, Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Math, and Writing teacher

Sue graduated from Pacific Union College, where she studied Early Childhood Education and Marine Biology. She loves cooking for her family. Sue is responsible for keeping student's programs current. Our Beginning Reading students love her!

Rachel Bryant

Reading, Math, Writing, and Study Skills instructor

Rachel attended CSU Northridge and has a degree in English Literature. She enjoys swimming, reading and sleeping and likes bread and cheese. She is most passionate about Literature!

Pat Williams

Academic Reading, Study Skills, Math and Academic Writing Teacher

Pat graduated from Cal State Fresno where she studied Geography. Her hobbies include reading, computer games, traveling and digital photography. Pat has been with the Napa Sylvan for two years, since we opened in 2005!

Walter Buckner

Mathematics Instructor

Walter was born in New Orleans, attended the University of Nebraska, where he studied medical technology and clincial pathology. He loves teaching and learning the politics of people. Walter is a favorite among our math students!

Maria graduated from Napa High School and attends Napa Valley College. Her hobbies include reading, watching movies and eating and her favorite foods are pastas and salads. Maria is passionate about learning and music.

Gina Pereira

Reading, Math, and Writing Instructor

Gina attended Sacramento State and studied Education. Her hobbies include playing the clarinet and shopping and she enjoys salads and French fries. She is passionate about her Portuguese culture and learning about other cultures. She also loves watching football!
