Linda Jacobs & Lynda O’Neal

Lead Teachers

Affectionately known as “The Linda’s”, our lead teachers have over 70 years teaching experience combined and 14 total years working with Sylvan.

Linda Jacobs earned her Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Biology and her Master of Science in Special Education from the University of Texas at Dallas. She has taught English, Science, Math, and Social Studies at all levels with all types of students in specialized settings and is currently working with DISD’s Homebound Program at Our Children’s House. Linda enjoys tutoring at Sylvan because of the wonderful variety of students she gets to work with.

Lynda O’Neal earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and History from TCU and her Master of Science in Language Arts from SMU. She has taught all subjects from Kindergarten through 8th grade and came to Sylvan after retiring from teaching after 38 years. Lynda says her favorite thing about teaching at Sylvan is “working with the students and watching them develop self confidence.”

Executive Director, Dallas tutoring

Tony Brogan

Executive Director

Tony is the local franchise owner for the North Dallas center. He decided to become involved with Sylvan after his first visit to the center. He says, “Since being at the center I have seen students eyes light up with confidence for the first time. I have met parents beaming with pride as they spoke about their children getting better grades. Our teachers are amazing! They care so much. Who wouldn't want to be part of such an amazing team?". Tony's background includes many years in the retail industry where he held positions in project management, quality assurance, and buying. He has lived in the Dallas area since 1995. He and his wife Maureen have two grown children who still live in the area. No grandchildren yet, but Tony and Maureen receive weekend visits from the "grand-dogs".

Everybody!

Tutors

The Sylvan tutoring team is a fun, diverse group of talented teachers who share one constant: they care passionately about helping each student reach his/her potential. As Linda Jacobs once put it, "At school, one size fits all but here at Sylvan we can focus on the individual needs of each student. It makes a huge difference."
