For more than 30 years, Sylvan has helped more than two million students learn to read, write, calculate and organize themselves to reach their potential inside and outside of the classroom. The Sylvan Learning Center at Oceanside is a positive, caring environment that inspires learning and self-confidence. Our unique tutoring approach helps all students, with every need, catch up, keep up and get ahead. As a result, eight out of ten Sylvan students improve their math or reading skills by one grade level equivalent in about five months. Find Out How Sylvan Goes Beyond Traditional Tutoring Services Most students can use extra help from our tutors to achieve their full learning potential in one or more key subjects. Our proven process begins with a Sylvan Skills Assessment test designed to identify your child's strengths and needs, so that we can then create a personalized program that's right for your child. We've carefully designed our tutoring programs so that every student has immediate access to their tutor, while benefiting from the opportunity to work independently to master material. Every step of the way, we'll keep you updated on your child's progress. During regular conferences with you, we'll determine—together—if your child is progressing as planned, or if the program should be accelerated. Sylvan Is More Than Tutoring Our tutors are not only highly trained and certified, but they also love to teach and are dedicated to helping your child succeed. With your permission, our directors will also work with your child's teacher to ensure success at Sylvan is also seen in the classroom. At Sylvan, we are committed to being good neighbors and valued partners in the community of Oceanside. Our local center is proud to work in conjunction with the local school systems and neighborhood organizations to create educational initiatives that benefit children for life.
