Sylvan Academic Reading"Our daughter just wasn't excited about reading. She wasn't really behind, but it was hard for her. I didn't want her to set up a self-fulfilling prophecy-that reading wan't fun, it's hard, and she wasn't good at it. I wanted her to LOVE it. She was also doing a dual immersion language at school and we didn't want the English to fall behind. After coming to Sylvan, She wanted to read a book on her own! (Without Mom's help!) Her fluency is so much faster. It isn't as much of a struggle to convince her to read for homework. I think she gets the idea that reading is fun. She loved coming to Sylvan. She always said "Mom, I like going to Sylvan. It's fun!" Thanks for boosing her confidence and keeping learing fun." - Larissa M. (Mom of 2nd Grader) |
Sylvan Academic Reading"Our son was reading below grade lvel. We were wanting him to get ahead, have more confidence in himself, and enjoy reading. His confidence has improved SO much! He loves Sylvan! He is reading better, his vocabulary speech, and comprehension have also improved. He is wanting to read and write more now. We will continue here at Sylvan becaues it has been such a positive in his life! thanks for the positive feedback you8 have given him. His confidence is soaring now! Thanks, Jessica!" - Wendy M. (Mom of 3rd Grader) |
Sylvan Academic Reading"Our son, Zak, did not enjoy reading and would not read recreationally. He was in a special reading program through the school and didn't seem to be making any progress. We were frustrated and he was frustrated. I was afraid Zak would HATE going to sylvan after spending a day at school. I was so surprised that he actually loved going. He never fought me about it. - Lisa (mom of 4th grader) |
ACT Prep"I took the ACT once before coming to Sylvan and I recieved a 22. After partcipating in the ACT class offered through Sylvan, I earned a 27 on the test. I have now been accepted to BYU and I owe it to Sylvan and the Study Skills I learned there." - Diane P. (High school senior...soon-to-be college freshman) |
