Success Stories

A Big Difference

""First, I want to thank Miss Susan, Miss Julie, and Miss Kathleen for all of their help with Jackson over the last six months. His father and I have received numerous compliments from his teacher, family, and friends on the difference they have witnessed in Jackson. He is more talkative, more open, and more outgoing than ever before. We are most pleased with his progress in beginning reading. ...
Thank you for all the help and guidance you have given our son. (We) have truly seen such a big difference in his confidence level as well as his educational level.""

- Brandi and Robert, parents of Jackson

""Sarah has made the Honor Roll for the third semester. This means Sarah has earned all A's, B's, and S's in Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. She has also demonstrated excellent progress and behavior in all of the special area classes (art, music, PE).""

Passed Her FCAT!

"Speaking of her daughter's anxiety about the FCAT test, Lisa said, "She was saying, 'I know I'm going to fail.'" ... Kelly passed her FCAT with flying colors.
Kelly said,"I like it now. I'm not so worried anymore. It feels great to get better grades.""

Reading and Grades Improve Tremendously

"I first started at Sylavn Learning Center Port Charlotte because I had a problem with reading and because of it I didn't like to read. I took a test and my reading level was third grade and I was in the tenth grade. So I started coming to Sylvan on Mondays and Wednesdays for two hours each day.
I first started seeing improvement about a month later when it became easier to sound out words. I kept going to Sylvan throughout the school year and summer. The next year I noticed an improvement in my reading and my grades went up tremendously. My experience at Sylvan has been very helpful."

- Shelby, college student and former Sylvan student
