Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding

Alli Wasle
Center Director
A graduate of Appalachian State University, Alli has worked with Sylvan since 2002. Starting as a part-time instructor while teaching high school English, Alli has moved through all positions with Sylvan up to the Director level. Beyond her passion for children and education, Alli is an avid hockey fan, loves to spend time reading, running, and doing projects at home with her husband.
Sam Gabin
Instructor
Part of the Sylvan team since June 2011, Sam graduated from the University of Denver with a Statistics degree and gained his teaching certification through NC State. Beyond his love of teaching, Sam enjoys spending time with his family, reading, traveling, and is a fan of all sports - particularly pro football.
Nikki Hudgens
Instructor
Nikki joined the Sylvan team in 2011. Her joy of reading led her to become an elementary school teacher with a concentration in reading. Aside from teaching at Sylvan, Nikki enjoys cheering on the Pirates of ECU, reading, going to the movies, and being with her friends and family.
Cassie Palisky
Instructor
A graduate of Ohio University, Cassie joined the Sylvan team in 2012. Cassie is an exceptional children's teacher at the high school level. She takes pleasure at working at Sylvan because it gives her the opportunity to teach younger children. In her free time, Cassie enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and going on adventures with friends.
Candice Wagnon
Instructor
A Raleigh native, Candice has been part of the Sylvan team since 2008 working her way up from teaching assistant to teacher. With background in early childhood education, Candice is now pursuing her teacher certification in elementary education. Some of Candice's favorite things to do outside of teaching at Sylvan are four-wheeling, white water rafting, attending football games, and spending time at the lake and beach with friends and family.
