Brittany has been with Sylvan Learning Centers for over 3 years. She has many years of experience working with children in a classroom setting as well as developing curriculum at the elementary level. Brittany believes that every student has the potential to be someone successful!
Children and learning are her passion. She tries to ignite a spark that helps a child excel. At Sylvan the personalized lessons allow her to focus on the whole child and encourage their confidence as they develop their skills.
I have been teaching for five years at San Pasqual Union Elementary School. I received my B.A. in Liberal Studies and my K-8 teaching credential from Cal State San Marcos. This past year I decided to continue my education and recently graduated from National University with my Master's Degree. My goal is to help your child become successful here at Sylvan, as well as become more confident in his and her abilities.
Motivating children to succeed academically is important to me. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics - Secondary Teaching Level from Cornell University. I have taught people to be computer programmers and worked in the data processing field. I have experience tutoring at all levels, as well as helping my own three children to flourish.
I have lived in San Diego for over 21 years and have 3 children, ages 25, 22, and 17. I enjoy the beach, walking in Blue Sky Reserve in Poway, and enjoy cooking for family and friends. Education is my 3rd career and have taught in public, private, and military school in grades K-12, currently working with Poway Unified School District.
I recently graduated from California State University, Long Beach with my Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies and my K-8 teaching credential. I am a substitute teacher for a few districts around San Diego and I eventually want to have my own classroom. My goal as a teacher is to encourage students to do their best work and help them excel in all areas of the curriculum.
Megan received her Bachelors Degree in History from the University of California, Irvine, her Masters Degree in Education from National University and is credentialed in English and Social Science. She loves working with students of all ages and is happy to have the opportunity to help students reach their full potential.
Alicia recently moved to San Diego from Austin/Houston, Texas where she attended college and worked as a high school mathematics teacher. She received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin where she is currently enrolled as a graduate student pursuing a Master of Arts in Mathematics. Alicia’s favorite part of being a math teacher is proving to students and parents that everyone is capable of excelling in math with the right combination of hard work and support.
I was born and raised in California, but moved to San Diego in 2006. I love the warm weather and the many activities here in this wonderful city. I, however, have a very busy schedule, in the day time I home school my 11 year old son and in the evenings I assist with instruction at the Sylvan Learning Center. I also have a background in Social Behavior and have over 8 years of experience working with teachers and children in the classroom environment. I enjoy what I do and receive satisfaction knowing that I succeeded in making a child smile.
