Kay was nominated for her amazing connection to our students, especially our early readers, for the confidence and encouragement she provides for our children everyday, and for her willingness to serve as a mentor for our new teachers as they learn how to teach our personalized programs.
From over 1100 centers nationwide, and from over 100 entries, Kay was among the final three nominees for teacher of the year. We are so proud of Kay's accomplishments, her commitment to our students, and for her strong teaching skills which exemplify Sylvan's Teacher of the Year.
Just a reminder to honor local teachers during this time for the amazing job they do helping children every day! Sylvan salutes our teachers in Round Rock ISD, Pflugerville ISD and Austin ISD for working with us so closely to help children succeed!

We encourage everyone to become involved in your child's school during Read Across America--volunteer, as we do, to read a book to your child's class. The more we read with children and allow them to experience the joy of reading from different community members, the more children see the value of reading and learning!
Any suggestions, or to request Sylvan to come to your child's school, drop us an e-mail!
