Success Stories

Megan, Mother of Cade

"The improvement in our son's self confidence is wonderful. Not only have his grades improved, but his attitude and motivation, as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've already recommended Sylvan to a co-worker!"

Deborah and Zachary, parents of Danielle

"Our experience at Sylvan has really been a blessing to our family. When we first were notified that our child would probably be held back in 1st grade we searched for months looking for help. Although, we knew holding her back was not the solution. As parents we would have to get outside tutoring. We have seen a gain in our daughter's confidence about reading. She never complains about going to Sylvan on the weekends. She is excited to let us know what she has learned during her lessons. It is exciting when we go to parent/teacher conferences at her school and her teacher can also see the gains from the extra help. Having the support from Kelli and Jaime to take time out of their busy schedules to join me during parent/teacher conferences really shows that they care. These directors show that they go way beyond the call of "Great Directors" who take their jobs seriously. It is so great to be able to communicate so well with the whole Sylvan staff at this location. We started attending Sylvan in February 2008 and I can't say that I have met any teacher working there that I thought was not a "Awesome" teacher. We think of the Sylvan staff as our extended family. Keep up the great work and thanks for making us feel so welcomed. I'm a very pleased Sylvan parent!"

Ramona, Mother of Colin

"In the 72 hours my son spent at Sylvan, his fluency rate practically doubled. We noted improvements in recognizing environmental print within weeks of his enrollment. He is taking a greater interest in books and has a renewed confidence in his skills. Thanks!"

Anna, a happy Sylvan Mom

"My daughter is more confident in doing her math homework, and able to finish in a timely manner. This allows her time to do all her other homework and not feel stressed for time. I am satisified with progress."

Susan, Mother of Shane

"The school and all the teachers and directors are nothing less than excellent! The school and staff have been excellent! I just hope my child has paid attention enough so he can use all the tools they have given him to make it without Sylvan's help. I would do this again in a heart beat. Thanks Sylvan!"

April, mother of Bryanna

"The staff is very nice and easy to talk to. They make sure my child is always comfortable."

Happy Sylvan Mother

"My daughter looks forward to every visit. She enjoys working with most of the teachers and of course has her favorites: Henry and Jamie. The staff at Sylvan has been very helpful and cooperative in meeting all our needs."

Mother of a Sylvan Student

"We are having a wonderful experience at Sylvan. My daughter looks forward to each of her scheduled classes. The teacher are great. I have seen her reading improve and her confidence still remains very high. The teachers and staff are very friendly and helpful. The school like atmosphere is well organized and materials always kept in stock and in good condition."

Karen, mother of Hailey

"The Sylvan Company and staff are a true gift or miracle. Our daughter is showing progress and the program has helped her succeed to the next grade level at school. We are participating in the summer program and she still loves coming to learn. I can't say enough about the staff. Thank you all for offering such a wonderful program for our kids."

Laurie, Mother of Logan

"Hi Kelli!

Hope things are going well for you. Logan is doing great this year in school. Her grades are excellent and she is enjoying school. We have also received notes from her teachers that she is a great student who is engaged in class and interested in her work. No surprise to you or I, but we feel like Sylvan helped her get her confidence back after some rough years. I also think she is using better time management and organizational skills to get work done in the time allotted at school and for the small amount that does come home.

Thank you!"

"Hi Kelli & Jaime,

I wanted to say a couple of words to the both of you. When we 1st walked into sylvan, Mckayla and I knew it was the right decision to have Mckayla come here. Of course we both knew it was going to be a long road for Mckayla because of the lack of foundation she had from 2nd grade. As time went on, we both had noticed that she was progressing. It was slow for her because she still didn't understand why things didn't come so easy for her, but when she would come home and used what y'all had taught her, it was amazing. I knew in my heart she was slowly but surely going to get it. More time had passed and I noticed that at points in her homework I needed to no longer help her because she was doing it on her own. I couldn't believe it. Her homework would go by faster. McKayla would tell me,"sylvan is helping and I can tell." Every month we would meet together and see how much her test scores were improving. It was so comforting to see how teachers there cared and welcomed her every time she would walk in the doors. Thanks for the way you have set up sylvan. I can honestly say that my child was not left behind. She grew from this experience, learned new strategies for work, and now has more confidence in herself. When she puts her mind to it, she can reach for the stars and no one will stop her. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for everything. Also, I wanted to let you know I received great news today. Mckayla called me today at her lunch and told me she passed her TASK test with an 83. We both cried and she knew her hard work had paid off. Her long road is coming to an end in 3rd grade but be re-assured that we will continue with math and reading at the house and over the summer. We both know she cannot slack off. Fourth grade is right around the corner. :) Thanks for all of your help, understanding, and for being there for McKayla.

"Hi Kelli,

I thought you’d be happy to know that Ashleigh got “Commended Performance” on the third grade Reading TAKS test! She scored 2400, where the standard passing score is 2100. Ashleigh got 33 out of the 36 questions correct.

She’s come a long way in the past year, thanks to her hard work and Sylvan tutoring! I know she was one of your tougher students in the beginning and am glad you didn’t give up on her. I knew she could do it.

Trish"

- Trish, Mother of Ashleigh

"Hi Kelli and Jaime,

I just wanted to let you know that this is our last week of Camp Read for the year. I appreciate both of you and the time that you spent reading with our students…it does make a difference! The students can now enter the next step of their education as more confident readers because of you!"
