2nd Grade Reading Student
"When entering the second grade my son was a non-reader due to his frustration with dyslexia. I enrolled him at Sylvan in order for him to learn all the foundational tools he had missed during his Kindergarten and first grade years. Within the first four months of attending Sylvan I noticed a tremendous improvement in both his ability to decode as well being able to read with an increasing level of confidence. The lessons focused on target areas that were in need of remediation. Lessons involved all three styles of learning; auditory, visual and kinesthetic. He was able to retain the skills that he had worked on and would enthusiastically share his activities.
He knew the teachers by name and would often ask if he had “Sylvan” today. He looked forward to his time spent at Sylvan and always left with a smile on his face. The environment was always warm and inviting.
As a parent, as well as an educator, I would not hesitate to recommend Sylvan, as I have already done. Their programs are engaging and maintain the student’s interest. My son’s growth in reading will forever positively impact his ability to succeed both in school and with all his life ventures."
