Success! Jesse Has Been Admitted to Seton Hall!

"Dear Anthony,
I wanted to write to share the happy news that my son, Jesse, has been admitted to Seton Hall University.

It has been a long road for us since Jesse first attended the Sylvan Learning Center in the 8th grade, when he could barely keep his focus to get through the placement test. Patiently in short bites, you helped him get through reading critically, basic math and algebra. Last year, especially, several sessions of the SAT prep helped him improve his grade by 210 points!

Through the work of your teachers and counselors, Jesse has learned how to learn. He has found ways of compensating for his learning disabilities. Sylvan always treated Jesse with respect and helped him find a way out of failure - an important lesson for all of us to learn. He worked hard and gained the confidence that he could indeed succeed in school.

A Grandmother's Wish

""My granddaughter goes to catholic school and she was not keeping up with her 3rd grade class and her parents were told that she would have to repeat 3rd and that we should consider putting her in public school. I decided that public school was not the answer. I Proceeded to register my granddaughter at Sylvan Learning even though the teacher said I should be very careful about these learning centers. She started Sylvan in July two days a week in September she started one day a week and Sylvan has made a great improvement in my granddaughter's ability to read and write plus they have built confidence in her. She had none of this before she started at Sylvan. As grandparents we watch our little girl read everything from books, posters, signs, cooking instructions, she even writes poems and does it all with such confidence. Thank you Sylvan

Customized Programs that work

"I like that customized programs are available for my children so they are getting help in areas where they need it most. Also, I have seen results in my son's Language Arts skills on a day-to-day basis (i.e. in his speech and his writing). This tells me that he is retaining the subject matter and has incorporated it in his daily life (as opposed to just "learning" the concept for a test and then forgetting it once the test is over)."
