Meet the Tutors
Sylvan Los Altos has tutored thousands of students in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, East Palo Altos, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara area for the past 10 years. Our local center has successfully helped over 85% of students improving 1 full grade level after 36 hours of tutoring. Teachers at our center are highly qualified tutors with teaching credentials and Sylvan certification. We provide after school learning programs for K-12 students on reading, writing, English, math, homework help, study skills, SAT & ACT test prep. Our student body includes elementary school, middle school and high school students from both private and public schools.

Nick Ni
Center Director
Nick has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. He has 4 years of tutoring experience in math and physics. He is passionate about helping students improving learning skills and achieving higher grades.

Step 1: identify students' math study needs
Step 2: make sure student understand math concepts
Step 3: train students with good math solving habits, for example, when to / not to do mental math.
Step 4: have students memorize important math formulas, numbers and shortcuts to improve math solving speed.
