Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

Heather
Center Director
Heather is an honors graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Language Arts Education. She has been with Sylvan since August 2006, where she started her career as a teacher and has also been a Director of Education. In June 2008, she moved into the position of Center Director. She loves to see the growth in students. She feels rewarded to see that what she has taught them makes a difference in their lives, as they grow to love learning.
Susan
Teacher
Susan holds a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education for grades K-8, as well as a Masters of Education. She started with Sylvan in 1998, and loves to see students become confident with material that they have struggled with. Susan also works at Sylvan of Stow.
Linda
Teacher
Linda started with Sylvan in October of 2011. She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education for grades K-8 from the University of Dayton. Her favorite thing about teaching is working with children- to know that she has made an impact on their lives and helped them learn to master skills.
Jessica
Teacher
Jessica holds a bachelor's degree in Integrated Math Education for grades 7-12 from Kent State University. She started with Sylvan in August of 2011, and loves to share her passion for learning with her students. She says it is a rewarding feeling when a student succeeds. Jessica loves working with students in all areas of math, including on the ACT and SAT.
Brittany
Teacher
Brittany is a graduate of Hiram College with an Bachelor of Science in Integrated Social Studies Education. She started with Sylvan in December of 2011 and loves connecting with students to help them realize their full potential.
Lindsay
Teacher
Lindsay began with Sylvan in June of 2009. She is a graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. She has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and in Spanish. Lindsay truly enjoys seeing students' faces as they learn new skills that have been challenging for them in the past.
Laura
Teacher
Laura has a Bachelor of Science in Education for grades 4-9 in Science, Math, and Language Arts. She is also working towards a Masters in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. She has been with Sylvan since August 2007. Laura loves that "lightbulb moment" when a student is struggling then suddenly understands a new concept or idea. "You can practically see a lightbulb appear over their head! I love Sylvan because it is the most rewarding job: I help students learn and discover everyday. I see them grow into more successful people as they progress through the Sylvan program. When I teach full-time, I know I will be a better teacher through the highly specialized training and experience Sylvan has provided me."
Luke
Teacher
Luke has a BS in Integrated Social Studies (grades 7-12) and a BS in Theater and Film. He started at Sylvan in August, 2011. When he is not at Sylvan he enjoys reading, exercise, watching movies and cooking. Luke's favorite thing about teaching is, "I enjoy watching students learn new things each day!"
