Wonderful
"Our son attended Sylvan Learning Center in Twinsburg intensively for about 3 years. As a home schooled student whose academic needs weren’t well addressed in the traditional classroom, we wanted to be sure Reed received top quality instruction that allowed him to move through the program at his own pace. We couldn’t be happier with our Sylvan experience.
Our son has areas of tremendous strength, where he works several years ahead of children his own age, especially in math and reading. He also had some very real areas where remediation and accommodation was necessary in order to compensate for weak mechanical abilities (i.e. handwriting & written expression) that were well below grade level. Sylvan was able to understand and embrace these various challenges and design a program specifically for his unique profile. He was able to master math through Algebra, several levels of writing with the assistance of computer keyboarding, the ACT Prep course and Sylvan’s College Prep writing class. Each class offered challenging, yet enjoyable curriculum.
We will ever be appreciative of the wonderful, compassionate teachers and Center Directors. Everyone Reed worked with helped bring out the best in him, paying close attention to his strengths and weaknesses and helping him to push through and persevere when he found tasks difficult. Similarly, he was able to move through the material at a much quicker, individual pace when it was appropriate.
As a mother, I felt that these teachers were like Reed’s own little cheering section – always rooting him on and congratulating him on jobs well done. I can honestly say that every penny spent for us was a true value and money well spent.
Because of the help Reed received at Sylvan, he has just reentered school fully prepared to achieve his potential. He has extremely well developed compensatory skills for his weaknesses and increased motivation and confidence to work to his fullest ability.
I can’t say enough great things about our experience at Twinsburg’s Sylvan Center!! On Reed’s last day, I actually shed some tears as it was bittersweet to leave this wonderful place!"
