From writing in complete sentences to developing a thesis statement to writing a compelling college application essay, Sylvan will develop a custom learning plan for your child's writing needs. Your child will gain the writing skills needed for a lifetime of success.
Sylvan's writing programs are available for students in grades 4 – 12.

Your child will learn skills such as:
- The five steps of the writing process, including prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing
- Techniques for various types of writing, including descriptive and persuasive paragraphs and essays
- Composition techniques, such as refining topic sentences, using specific details, and including appropriate transitions
- Grammar, including how to write with correct subject-verb agreement and punctuation, and how to avoid common errors, such as fragments and run-on sentences
